The original manga, "Tetsunabe Jan!", centers around Jan Akiyama, a talented young chef working at a high-end restaurant. Jan is constantly competing with Kiriko Gobancho, the granddaughter of the restaurant owner and a talented chef herself. While Kiriko believes that cooking should be done with the customer in mind, Jan believes that cooking should be about competition.
