Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
BonesAfter a horrific alchemical experiment in the Elric household goes awry, brothers Edward and Alphonse are left in a tragic new reality. Ignoring the alchemical principle that forbids human transmutation, the brothers attempt to revive their recently deceased mother. In return, they suffer gruesome personal losses. Alphonse’s body disintegrates, Edward loses a leg, and sacrifices an arm to keep Alphonse’s soul bound to the material world by binding it to a massive suit of armor. The brothers are rescued by their neighbors, Pinako Rockbell, and her granddaughter Winry. Winry, a genius in biomechanics, creates a prosthetic for Edward using automail, a strong and versatile metal used in robots and battle armor. After years of training, the Elric brothers embark on a journey to find the Philosopher’s Stone, a powerful gemstone that allows alchemists to defy the law of equivalent exchange and reclaim their bodies. As Edward becomes the infamous alchemist and earns the nickname “Fullmetal Alchemist,” the brothers’ journey becomes entangled in a conspiracy that threatens the fate of the world.
