The story of Asta and Yuno’s friendship is unique. They met abandoned on the same day, on the same church’s doorstep, and grew up together. From childhood, both were determined to become the “Wizard King”—the position held by the greatest wizard in the entire kingdom. They promised each other that they would compete for this position.

But time changed everything; Yuno turned out to be a master of magic whose control and power stunned everyone, but poor Asta! He had no magic whatsoever. He would lift stones day and night, practicing magic as if he could perform a miracle with his physical strength, but the magic never came.

When both turned 15, everyone received their “Grimoires” (magic books). Yuno was blessed with the legendary four-bladed clover, which was talked about all over the region, but Asta’s hands remained empty. Everyone was laughing at him when the game turned around. An enemy named “Lebuty” attacked Yuno to steal his precious Grimoire.

Asta risked his life to save his friend, but without magic, he was brutally beaten. When all hope seemed lost, Yuno’s voice ignited such a fire within Asta that it crossed all limits. His anger and emotions suddenly brought forth a black book—the five-volume “Black Clover” Grimoire! It possessed such power that it could crush the enemy. Then what, both the friends picked up their bags and set out towards their destination to see who would become the next Wizard King!

Fifteen-year-old Japanese girl Chise Hatori is put up for auction for 5 million pounds by a tall, masked gentleman. Abandoned as a child and ridiculed by her classmates for her unconventional behavior, she was prepared to surrender herself to any buyer, as long as she had a home to return to. Chained and bound to an unknown fate, she hears the whispers of well-dressed men along the way. They are gossiping and complaining about the incredible bargain the buyer has struck.

Ignoring the whispers, the mysterious man leads the girl to his study, where he introduces himself as Elias Ainsworth. After a brief encounter and a magical teleportation, they awaken in Elias’s charming cottage in the English countryside. Welcomed by fairies and surrounded by strange creatures, Chise’s story begins as she becomes “The Thing,” the apprentice and bride of an ancient sorcerer.
