The story of Sparks of Tomorrow is set in a different city of Kyoto in the 20th century, where steam power is everywhere instead of electricity, and the entire city is filled with smoke. The story centers on a boy who is devastated after losing his brother, and his dream of creating a new world of electricity remains unfulfilled. Also, there is a very religious girl who harbors the grief of her dying mother.
When they meet unexpectedly, they discover a book called “20th Century Electrical Catalog.” This book offers them a glimpse of the times to come and the new technology of electricity. Together, they overcome their past traumas and journey toward a future they once had complete faith in.
