The only way for a human to become a vampire is to fall in love with one. Fourteen-year-old gecko Kou desired just that. Determined to fall in love with a vampire named Nanami Nazuna, Kou had only ten months of nightly trysts left to achieve his goal. Kou’s friends, Seki Mahiru and Asai Akira, were gradually coming to accept the existence of vampires and Kou’s determination to become one. Kou learned that a woman close to Mahiru was a vampire and was conflicted about whether he should support their relationship. Meanwhile, Uguisu Anzu, a human detective determined to hunt vampires, approached Nazuna and her family. When one of the vampires was severely injured in an encounter, they realized that their memories as humans held the key to a weakness that would lead to their destruction. To protect Nazuna, Kou had to learn about her past.
